ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

How Long is the Program?

Each session is 10-12 weeks long.  The girls meet once or twice a week for one or two hours after school filled with fun activities to develop running and life skills.

What's the Goal?

By the end of each 10-12 week session, the girls will have chosen and participated in a community service project and will have completed a 5K running event with her team members!

Why Should My Daughter Be A Part of GOTR?

We challenge each girl to celebrate her mind, body and spirit by being her goofy, unique-spirited self.  We believe that you can find your inner strength by running, skipping, sprinting, hopping, dashing, leaping, gliding, rolling, or cart wheeling all the way to the finish line!

What Will My Daughter Learn?

The curriculum that our coaches use provides a forum for girls to discuss and make choices about physical fitness, good eating habits, saying "no" to drugs, values, positive communication, and community service.  We will teach this curriculum by focusing on these three broad areas:

        •  Understanding ourselves and setting personal goals
        •  Learning skills to get along in a group
        •  Examining our responsibility and voice in the community

Who Will Be My Daughter's Coach?

Our dedicated coaches have been specially trained to facilitate learning sessions, mentor girls and build a team of girls who believe in themselves.

How Many Girls Can Participate?

Each program has room for up to 15 girls.  Each group will have at least one coach and one-two assistant coaches.

How Much Does It Cost?

The actual out of pocket cost to the GOTR program is approximately $140 per girl for the weekly 10-12 week program.  This $140 covers the full cost of one child's participation which includes:

         •  20-24 lessons conducted by certified GOTR coaches
         •  Official GOTR T-shirt
         •  A water bottle
         • Participation in a 5K Celebration Event
         •  A healthy snack at each practice

A family that can afford to pay $140 is asked to pay the full amount.  Participants of Girls on the Run and their families who cannot afford to pay $140 choose a program fee ranging from $0 to $130.  Girls participate equally in the program regardless of the fee the family selects.  Girls must complete the program to receive all benefits noted above.  The following scale is provided for families to choose what they believe they can afford.  It is essential that each family contribute as much as it can afford.  Local fund raising efforts and donations help bridge the gap between the program fees paid and necessary sponsorship.  Families that have the ability to and are interested in supporting the program beyond the $140 may choose to sponsor additional girls as well.

Level I - $140
Level II - $100 to $139
Level III - $50 to $99
Level IV - $0 to $49
